چکیده
Abstract Objective: The study aimed to examine the use of dichotomous versus dimensional scores across two social determinant measures regarding their ability predict cognitive and psychiatric outcomes in a diverse, urban, clinical sample. goal was better guide clinicians selection appropriate research methodology pertaining cut-scores constructs. Method: included 215 adults referred for outpatient neuropsychological evaluation. Patients were classified into at-risk/low-risk groups based on predetermined Rapid Estimate Adult Literacy Medicine - Revised (REALM-R) Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) cut-scores. Nine tests self-report scales administered. A series hierarchical regression models conducted investigate predictive power alone, account incremental scores. Results: For REALM-R, alone accounted significant variance, demonstrating robust all (p < 0.001 p 0.05), but not outcomes. Dimensional provided variance five 0.001to 0.05) during which parameter estimate reduced non-significance. Regarding ACE, positively associated with symptoms 0.001), addition did significantly more variance. Conclusion: This demonstrated REALM-R ACE. Further, potent should be used enhance decision-making when applicable.

in the past couple of decades sociocultural theory of sla and its implications in efl contexts have attracted attentions of research circles worldwide and aroused some controversies. firth and wagner (1997) have questioned the principles of the cognitive view which gives importance to mental constructs in favor of sociocultural view which highlights social and contextual constructs. but if soci...

BACKGROUND Self-rated health is a commonly used measure of health status, usually having three to five categories. The measure is often collapsed into a dichotomous variable of good versus less than good health. This categorization has not yet been justified. METHODS Using data from the 1958 British birth cohort, we examined the relationship between socioeconomic conditions, indicated by occu...
متن کاملComparison of Distance Measures in Cluster Analysis with Dichotomous Data
The current study examines the performance of cluster analysis with dichotomous data using distance measures based on response pattern similarity. In many contexts, such as educational and psychological testing, cluster analysis is a useful means for exploring datasets and identifying underlying groups among individuals. However, standard approaches to cluster analysis assume that the variables...
متن کاملOn measures of cohesiveness under dichotomous opinions: Some characterizations of approval consensus measures
The measurement of the degree of agreement in a group has recently attracted considerable attention by researchers from various fields. In this paper we consider situations where each member of a population classifies a list of options as either “acceptable” or “non-acceptable” (as in job committees or elections by approval voting); either “agree” or “disagree” (as in polls or surveys); either ...
متن کاملA method of bias correction for maximal reliability with dichotomous measures.
This paper is concerned with the reliability of weighted combinations of a given set of dichotomous measures. Maximal reliability for such measures has been discussed in the past, but the pertinent estimator exhibits a considerable bias and mean squared error for moderate sample sizes. We examine this bias, propose a procedure for bias correction, and develop a more accurate asymptotic confiden...
